No krenimo redom.

Motor

Motor i motorske komponente, uključujući i naoružanje u trupu imaju preko 40 delova. Maketa u maketi.

Kabina

Lepo i čisto odliveno, bez tragova izbijača i sa fino graviranim panelnim linijama i pristupnim otvorima.

Krila i horizontalac

Sastavnica

Svim ljubiteljima Me 109 toplo preporucujem ovu maketu.

New model of “Zvezda” company that was just released is famous Messerschmitt 109 G6. In my opinion it is not necessary to give any historical info about this fighter legend from WWII. I will just mention that this is a variant with most aircraft produced, somewhat over 12 000 planes.

Model is packed in solid cardboard box (which is my personal favorite) 30,5×20,5×5 cm in size. Drawing shows fighter piloted by Erich Hartmann from 52nd geschwader (squadron) somewhere above Russia.

The box contains six trees in grey plastic and one in clear plastic totaling 233 parts. Quick glance reveals that “Zvezda” used already existing moulds from Me 109 F2/F4 as a base for this model. Trees A, B and C are completely new moulds and the rest are from the previous kit. But first things first.

Engine

The complete engine is given like in the previous models. The engine is highly detailed, nicely casted without any excess plastic and sink marks. Engine compartment covers (which are planned to be left open) is of great detail, namely showing the reinforcements, which adds to the authenticity of the kit. Sharp eye for detail is obvious from the fact that new machine guns are given (MG131, 13 mm instead of 7,9 mm from previous version) that are to be mounted above the engine. Engine, engine parts, weapons in the fuselage have over 40 parts.

Cockpit

Cockpit is highly detailed with a lot of parts and is a good representation of pilot’s space in G6. Two cockpit covers, as well as two windshields are given. Set of one of the covers and windshields are given for the early series of G6, while “Erla” covering is given for later series. Two dorsal sets of plates of steel armor and panzer glass are given as well. Hatch for pilot’s belongings, located behind pilot’s seat is also given in two variants.

Fuselage

Fuselage is completely new with two types of vertical rudder. One beginner-like in quality, factory-made, coated in aluminum, while the other is for latter models and made of wood. Nicely and crisply moulded with no ejector pin marks and with nicely engraved panel lines and service hatches.

Wings and horizontal rudder

Wings of this kit come as combination of old and new mould. Upper wing half is completely new with engraved panels and characteristic “bumps” above the wheel bay for fitting the thicker tires (60×160) while lower half is used from F2/4. All the commanding surfaces, wings, flaps, depth commands and automatic slats are given as separate parts and thus provide opportunity to be positioned per modeler’s wish, On the lower half are two openings where interior construction can be seen.

Landing gear

Struts are new, as are the wheels with full rims, enough thickness and engraved tire grooves. Wheel bays are given with good detail.

Undercarriage

Undercarriage is very rich and provides almost all that G6 could carry. Undercarriage contains two under-wing gondolas with cannons of 20mm, a bomb weighing 250 kg with the central mount. Four 50-kilo bombs with central mount and rejectable tank 50kg of 300 litres are there as well.

Instruction sheet

It is nicely designed and printed with a schedule of work and clear pictures. The paints are given in Zvezda and Humbrol. Three paint schemes are given, but unfortunately without the clarification for which unit and plane type.

Swiss paint scheme displays one of thirteen planes of the type, that were in use by the airforce in post-WWII, without the red-white strips around the fuselage and wings.

“White 10” is a plane flown by German ace pilot Alfred Grislawski form the 50th geschwader, then stationed in Wiesebaden-Erbenheim during the September 1943 with 112 air victories. “Yellow 1” is the plane from 52nd geschwader belonging to Erich Hartman, who in summer 1942., based on the Novo Zaporzje airport.

Conclusion

One more successful model form “Zvezda” offering with lots of options and possibilities to work on. Early variants, as well as late ones of G2 with a lot of hardpoints  and engine group will be a treat for all Luftwaffe fans. “Rivet counters” will be slightly disappointed with that. I would like to recommend this kit to all the fans of Me 109. If the price is like the others in class so far, it is really the maximum party for minimal investment.
