Kratak istorijat.

The model

The model comes packed in a hard box with dimensions 49cm x 30cm x 8cm and a nice drawing of a Russian self-propelled howitzer. There are six trees in grey plastic and one tree with transparent parts, whilst upper and lower half of the chassis are casted as a whole. There are two small mesh parts of different size for the engine compartment openings. There is also a piece of thread simulating a cable. There are 451 parts in total, which is a large number given the fact that there is no interior. Only few parts are not to be used depending of the position of auto-loader (fighting or marching position). The instruction booklet comes printed on six pages and there is also a sheet of decals. The number decals are printed in multiplets so one can make any marking ID number on the vehicle. The decal sheet is printed nice and clean, which is best visible on the Guards crest.

Trees and parts

As already mentioned upper and lower chassis halves are casted as single piece each. Self-entrenchment device comes to the front of the vehicle, while on the top of it there are a lot of boxes, holders, lids and covers to be placed. The turret is given in parts, but considering the regular geometric shape there should be no problem in assembling it. There are also targeting and observation components placed on the turret, as well as 12,7 mm AA gun, smoke dispensers, lids and various handles. The barrel is given in several part config, so one needs to be careful when assembling it.

Tracks

Tracks are given in parts but not link-by-link but rather in T 90  manner. Upper portion is slightly wavy in order to simulate the natural position of tracks. The guards on the tracks are given as separate parts.

Conclusion

Shortly, one more nice and attractive model from Zvezda, which is not falling behind by much to Trumpeter’s version. It will presumably be a lot cheaper than Trumpeter. Recommendation to all interested in modern tech. I would like to thank Zvezda for providing the model for this review.
