Yak-130 is an airplane designed as training and fighter jet. Development of Yak-130 began in 1991 and lasted until 1993, when design stage was finished. Russian company “Yakovlev” works together with Italian airplane company “Aeromacchi” on this new project and thus creates Yak-130 for Russian and M-346 for Italian market. First flight of new plane was in 1996, whilst its first public appearance was on Paris Air Show in 2005. The plane was introduced to the units in 2010. Jet’s top speed is 1060 km/h. More info on the development and history of this plane is available on the internet, so I would describe the model.

New model from Russian company Zvezda comes in the now standard quality package with good protection from damage. The model counts over 170 parts of quality plastic which also demonstrates the quality and detailing of the model. There is ample of detail present, to name a few, engine exhausts, armament, cockpit flawlessly tooled with all the instruments, belts on the seats but with more than enough detailing, having all the intricate detail that needs to be present on the seats of training/combat jet. Parts distribution and disassembly looks rather complicated and tedious, therefore decent modeling experience is required to assemble this model of jet. Part fit itself is flawless. What is interesting is, i.e. to take photos during assembly where many details will remain visible until the very end of completing the model. Modelers need to pay attention on the lower wing parts, as there are two parts on the trees, without any mentioning in the instruction sheet and no numeration on the trees. Paints are given in Humbrol and Zvezda codes. This is a nice and rare model of a jet, which Zvezda produced in great quality. I would recommend it to all the fans of jets in 1/72 scale as well as to other modelers. I would like to thank Zvezda for providing this model for review.
